The economic impact of the arts: Tomorrow, the Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington will release a new report gaging the economic contributions local arts institutions make to the greater Washington economy. The study, conducted using a framework developed by the national advocacy group, Americans for the Arts, was carried out as a partnership of six Washington-area arts councils. The wanderlust of dragonflies: The Washington Post has a little story today on the luminous insects that, just about now, are embarking on the perilous annual migration as far south as Mexico, where they spend a few weeks breeding before they die. (Talk about a bucket list!)  Fun fact, of the 331 dragonflies of North America, only nine species regularly make the southern trek each year.
