Hola News: Art, archeology and surfing

By | Published | No Comments

Hola!

Today’s Washington Post has a story on the rebellion of Mexican archeologists who object to the often cheesy themepark-ization of the country’s many important pre-Colombian sites.

Also, if you missed it, you might want to check out the paper’s earlier story, “Suronomics,” on how environmentalists have tallied tourist dollars to make the economic case for saving a Puerto Rican beach from development that threatens the very waves that made it a surfers’ paradise to begin with.

A traveling exhibition of work by Peruvian photojournalist Óscar Medrano is on view at the Peruvian Embassy until Sept. 13.
