Juan Pineda among Submerge artists

By | Published | No Comments

If you haven’t already, you might want to check out Submerge, a this-week-only art, design and performance extravaganza taking over a storefront on H St. NE.

The No Kings Collective, the organizers, call it a group show that’s really “a collection” of solo artists. Among them: Juan Pineda, whose  graffeti-influenced street murals are featured in our upcoming “webumentary, “Muralismos DC.” (Watch trailer here.)

Submerge kicked off last Saturday but there is still plenty going on before it closes Sunday, Nov. 18. Tonight features photography and an installation documenting the “famed” FightClub DC. Tomorrow night, local comics take the stage.  The art and performances continue through the weekend. With the exception of the party Saturday night, there are lots of free events paired with food and cocktail offers, and fashion events.

Exhibiting artist include Brandon Hill, Gregg Deal, Paul Mericle, Truth Among Liars, STRATA, Rock Creek Social Club, Tim Conlon, Juan Pineda, Kelly Towles, Katie Warren, Matt Curran, Michael Owen, Tariq Tucker, Martin Swift, Xxist, Aniekan Udofia, Margo Elsayd, Deena Odelle Hyatt, James Kerns, Victoria Milko, Anthony Smallwood, Asad “Ultra” Walker and DECOY.
