Cultural News: Latin dance craze, ‘Net gains + La Raza

El Tiempo Latino has a story about a Northern Virginia school’s Latin dance competition that features students from nine Washington-area schools.

NPR posted a short clip about how Spanish-language network Univision is currently 3rd in U.S. ratings, surpassing NBC.

A Huffington Post article by the director of the Smithsonian Latino Center describes the center’s commitment to promoting the historical, cultural and scientific contributions of Latinos and increase the Center’s presence on the National Mall.

José Antonio Vargas, an undocumented Pulitzer-winning journalist, will be recognized by the National Council of La Raza in Washington. Washington Hispanic has a story on the event and discusses the other award winners.

Latinos no longer lag behind other groups in Internet usage and, in fact, get online more than whites or blacks, according to a new study reported in the Washington Post.
