It was economic necessity that launched him into the tamale business some years ago, but he says he’s come to enjoy it and takes pride in continuing a tradition passed on from his Mexican ancestors. He’s been written up in the Washington Post and featured on National Public Radio. Crespo and his tamales are also the focus of a simpatico video produced by the DC duo Capital Hustle, which you can find on his website.
